Overview

Tuning, or calibrating, your printer and how it prints is important to be able to successfully print, especially more sensitive models like whistles which deal with airflow and sound. Some printers do it for you, but most don't.

There are 2 aspects to tune around: the printer itself, and the filament it prints. There are so many things you could tune if you are into that, but the following will get you printing well.

Main "calibrations" to run per printer

  • Max Speed/Acceleration
  • Max flow (extruder + hotend - specific)

Main "calibrations" to run per filament brand + type (ex. Polymaker ASA

  • Flow percentage
  • Pressure Advance
  • Retraction
  • Temperature
  • Cooling

All of these can be calibrated from within OrcaSlicer or Bambu Studio, links below with details
